We source our 100% unrefined shea butter directly from our women partners in Ghana who use age-old traditional cold-press methods. Our promise to you, our customers, is to provide shea butter products prepared in safe and environmentally sustainable ways both in Ghana and here at home where we whip and jar the final products. Even our jars are 100% post-consumer recycled plastic material. Since our women partners in Ghana are socially and culturally ostracized our promise to them is to bring them personal financial security by paying them 5% above the market price and making another 5% contribution towards their community development fund for meeting community needs like much-needed water, classrooms, clinic and sanitation facilities. As our company grows, so too will our payments to the women and their community grow.
