As the president of the Indie Beauty Network, I have the privilege of seeing up close and personal the amazing products offered by small US manufacturers.
My members make everything from candles and jewelry to soaps and sugar scrubs. They do an amazing job of proudly representing America, and I love showing them off. Just look at the beautiful products featured in this video. Everything is made by Tammy Brodbeck of Milk and Cookeez, or if she didn't make it, she purchased it from an Indie who did.
Did you see those sugary treats? Don't they look good enough to eat? It's amazing what you can do when you have a passion and a desire to succeed! Tammy, who is also a wife and mother, is a good example of that. She's one of those “consumer business owners” I told you about yesterday, and we must work together to preserve her ability to grow her business, provide for her family and set a positive example of self sufficiency for generations to come. Find Tammy on FaceBook and Twitter.
And I would be remiss if I didn't tell you that my husband, Darryl Johnson, quickly edited this piece on a whim last night using photos taken by Tammy. What a partnership, huh? You can see more of his work and find out how to engage his services for your video needs at his blog.
Remember: the things we make, make us.
Question: On a scale of 1 to 10, how important is it for us to preserve these types of businesses in America? What are you doing to make it happen?
