A few weeks ago, I published a video post about how my husband (and business partner) and I started our Couple's MasterMind Group. Today, I'll shed some light on how we manage our group. These are things my husband and I started to do in our personal MasterMind sessions, and they are also part of the group we participate in with other couples. Remember that there are no rules because every couple is different, but I hope our experiences help you create a platform if you and your spouse decide to MasterMind together.

- Prioritize and Set Goals. It's important to know what you want to accomplish in your MasterMind sessions. Because my husband and I are in business together, most of our sessions are related to our family business. There is some overlap since we work from home and our children are here much of the time. This seems natural to us, but it may not be to others. You will have to decide what you will MasterMind about and set some boundaries so you stay on track on don't dilute your focus and the impact of your time together.
- Manage Time Wisely. I like to use a timer to maximize every minute. It's very easy to get off track in a MasterMind session. You start off talking about Subject A, and before you know it, you're all over the map, even chit chatting, about something totally different. Setting time limits and using a stop watch with an alarm is a good reminder that you only have a certain amount of time. This makes it easier to stay on track and cover everything you need to cover in the time allotted.
- Take Notes. I believe it is critical to journal your progress. When my husband and I meet, I am the note taker (because I type super fast). I don't keep detailed notes, but I record our goals and the progress we make toward them. It is empowering and affirming to see the progress we make over time. We're a team, and charting our progress builds upon the depth of our our family, our marriage and our business. If you don't write things down, you'll cheat yourself out of some great celebrations.
Part 3 Is Coming Soon!
My next video on this topic will share tips on how to select other couples to be in your MasterMind group. I will probably record that sometime before the end of the month so stay tuned.
Question: If you have started MasterMinding with your spouse, please share how it's going. Or if you have questions about the process, ask them and I'll share more from our experience.
