I am pleased to announce that my family and I will host the grand opening party for the Indie Business Studio outside Charlotte, North Carolina, on Thursday, October 3, from 5:30pm to 8pm. The ribbon cutting will take place promptly at 5:30.* Our address is 206-B North Hayne Street in Monroe, just 30 minutes south of Charlotte. Park on N. Hayne Street in front of Indie Business Studio, or park in the free parking lot next to the studio in front of the police station.
Why Indie Business Studio?
So why, after 13 years of online business success, am I opening Indie Business Studio? I'm so glad you asked. I'll share more later, but briefly, I could not pass up an opportunity to plant business roots in my local community and contribute to the success of creative entrepreneurs in my own back yard.
Charlotte, North Carolina, is a great place to live and raise children. It's also a great place to do business. Indie Business Studio is located about 30 minutes south of Charlotte, and it will never be the same after Indie Business Studio officially moves in next month.
The Charlotte area is sprinkled with all kinds of co-working spaces, tech startup spaces, and green startup spaces. But there's nothing like this for miles around — a collaborative working space where creative and handmade artisans receive business mentoring and coaching tailored to their specific needs.
We will offer that, and more, at Indie Business Studio.
Memberships will be available, with discounts for our local Indie Business Network members of course, along with a wide array of classes to help local artisans learn how to scale a handmade business and add streams of income so they can be profitable and define success and how they grow on their own terms.

Indie Business Studio will be located at 206-B North Hayne Street in Monroe, just 30 minutes south of Charlotte, right across the street from the old courthouse.
We will offer the resources and tools creatives need to grow: hands on mentoring, access to one-on-one and group coaching, technology training, “Show and Share” nights, and the opportunity to network and collaborate with other creatives where they are understood, valued, and encouraged to make money — real money — from their talents and gifts.
