Iam excited to announce #MakerMonday, a new way for the world to experience the local and handmade products from members of the Indie Business Network. For those who don't know, our members hail from all 50 states and Canada (and a few other countries), and#MakerMonday is our newest fun way to help them spread the word about their products. With #MakerMonday, anyone can enter to win handmade goodness on Twitter and Facebook.
Each Monday, once in the morning and once in the afternoon, the Indie Business Network will post an update on Twitter and Facebook that includes the #MakerMonday hash tag and a photo of the product you can win. I'll tell you how to win in a minute, but first let me tell you why we are doing this.
Makers Are Changing the Face of America
It is happening so slowly that many of our smartest thinkers are not even noticing. But we are noticing it, and we wonder how anyone can miss it.
People who are passionate about creating products that make people's lives better are making and selling more of the great stuff they make. They are not only creating, but they are making money creating — as they should be. They are creating sustainable business models based on their passion, and the Indie Business Network is there to help them every step of the way.
Inspired by #bathday, hosted by one of our members on Wednesdays on Twitter, #MakerMonday celebrates both Maker and Money, for you cannot have one without the other. #MakerMonday will make it possible for more people to experience artisan made products, so more Makers can enjoy the financial fruit of their labor and have the means to make more of the products everyone loves so much.
On #MakerMonday, you'll enjoy chances to win products like soaps, candles, perfume, aromatherapy products, indie-published DIY and how to books of all kinds, home fragrance accessories, jewelry, cosmetics, artisan food products and more.
How to Enter to Win on #MakerMonday
Once on Monday morning and once on Monday afternoon, the Indie Business Network will post from our pages, Facebook and Twitter, using the #MakerMonday hash tag. Each post will be accompanied by instructions on how you can Reply (on Twitter) or Share (on Facebook) for your chance to win.
For Twitter, Reply (not ReTweet!) to our Tweet using the words we instruct you to use (they will be in quotes), along with the #MakerMonday hash tag. Be the 6th or 7th (or whatever we say) person to Reply correctly and you will win. We will ask the winner to send your mailing address that day so we can send you your prize.
For Facebook, Share our post using the words we instruct you to use, along with the #MakerMonday hash tag. Be the 6th or 7th (or whatever we say) person to Share correctly and you will win. You can also comment and like, but only Shares will be entered to win. We will ask the winner to send us your mailing address that day so we can send you your prize.
If your Reply or Share is suppressed or deleted by Facebook or Twitter for any reason (including your privacy) settings, or if we do not see it when we look for it, it will not count. (Sorry, we have to rely on Twitter and Facebook to some extent.)
You don't have to remember any of this because we will put the instructions in our updates on Mondays.
Remember, there will be 4 chances to win each Monday. One each on Facebook and Twitter in the morning, and one each on Facebook and Twitter in the afternoon.
We run #MakerMonday on Eastern Standard Time, so keep that in mind as you determine the best time for you to play.
