After the debut of our newest member benefit, our Member Makeover last month, I knew we were onto something. The hands-on, deep dive, live review of one of our member's websites, niche, and brand presence not only informed her, but it also informed the entire membership. There is no better learning atmosphere then one filled with positive, inspiring people who collectively reach past their comfort zones to a new level of success every day. Our Member Makeovers are like that, and boy, are they fun!
Today, we had the pleasure of working once again with the amazing Padraic Ryan of Ryan Design Studio. Our focus was on Jennifer Kurko's Kiss Freely brand.
Jennifer offers allergy friendly personal care products, including body butter, eye shadow, lip stick, face serum, sugar scrub and more. A few of the ingredients you will NOT find in Jennifer's products are sesame, shea butter, coconut oil and sunflower seed oil.
Our Guest Coach, Padraic Ryan of Ryan Design Studio offered great advice as usual. One of the many pieces of advice he shared was the importance of making sure that all links to sites other than your own open new windows. This is such a simple thing, but it's so easy to overlook this when you are busy updating your site. Padraic's reminder is critical because once you lead someone to a link outside of your own site, it's nearly impossible to get them to come back unless the outside link opens a new window.
Notice the difference:
This link goes to a page at this site, so the same page is used to open the new page.
This link goes to a page at another site, so a new page is used to open the new page.
See the difference? When I link out to Padraic's site, I want to open a new window so you still have my site window open and ready to come back to without having to click the “back” key or hunt around for it in your browser tabs.
You can learn more about our Member Makeovers at this link. Hope to see you at the next one, coming up in December. That date will be announced shortly.
