Why It's Great To Be Indie!
As a small business owner, I sometimes get tired. Really tired. Not only do I run a growing business, but I also manage a home with a husband and two young children. It can be exhausting. I know you know what I mean, yes?
Even so, I am glad to be Indie, and I love that one of the most amazing things about the Indie Business community is the way we support and encourage one another.
Yesterday, when I was feeling kind of burned out, I got an email from Debbie Bilezikian, owner of Monave Mineral Cosmetics. Debbie, a longtime member of the Indie Beauty Network, was the featured "Indie Candy" in my newsletter this week.
Debbie emailed me to let me know that one of my readers, another Indie Business owner, had emailed her to say how much she enjoyed reading Debbie's newsletter feature. Here's what she said:

I was working in my studio this afternoon, getting a bit tired of trying to tie it all together. Then, I found Donna Maria's newsletter in my inbox. I read the article about you and now, I feel inspired to move forward. I just wanted to say "thank you" for sharing your story. I have watched your business grow and shine over the years. You should be so proud. Congratulations on all of your hard work and success. Keep going! Wishing you the best!
It's great to have a business, even greater to have a profitable one. But at the end of the day, I love laying my head down on a pillow knowing that something I did encouraged and uplifted another human being.
