We are excited to introduce you to Dayna Undersmith, our 4Q 2024 Robin's Roses Entrepreneurial Scholarship Recipient. Dayna is a licensed clinical social worker at a hospital in Denver, Colorado, with a dream to turn her tasty nut meat recipe into a product that is available for people to enjoy in tacos, salads, casseroles and more.
About Dyana
Q: Tell us a little bit about your business idea.
Dayna says:
My business idea has its roots in a delicious nut meat recipe that I have been refining for years.
I grew up with different versions of the nut meat concept, enjoying things like nut tacos and nut burgers as a little girl. I have shared my family recipe with close friends over the years, and everyone always comments on how rare and delicious it is. Over the past few years, I have refined my recipe, and I am now ready to take the next steps to introduce it as a product to more people.
As an active mom, I am pleased to have transformed my original recipe into a healthy and clean product that fits the needs of other healthy people in my community. I am now ready to use IBN's tools to shape my idea into a small business enterprise.
Q: Why are you a good candidate for the Robin's Roses Entrepreneurial Scholarship?
Dayna says:
I put my whole heart into opportunities that I care about. I know that this scholarship will allow me to grow our beloved family nut meat recipe into something remarkable that can be shared. My business idea combines my interests in family, food, community, and entrepreneurship, each of which I find incredibly inspirational. So much is asked of women in our society, and I relate to all of it as a social worker and a mother. IBN understands this ecosystem, and bolsters female entrepreneurship within it. I see a lot of overlap in IBN's core values and those of my business project. The fundamental values of fierce creativity, integrity, service, as well what I have already noted above, resonate with my spirit and what I aspire to weave into the pillars of my nut meat business. As a woman, a social worker and a new mom, I connect deeply with IBN's roots and the purpose of this scholarship. |
IBN: We've got all that for you, and more. Welcome Dayna!

The Indie Business Network offers a valuable and transformative experience, and we recognize that not everyone has the resources to access our suite of entrepreneurial mentoring, coaching, and training services, especially when they are first starting out. To help offset the challenge for as many as possible, each quarter, we offer a scholarship for a year of membership and private one-on-one email coaching with our founder and CEO, Donna Maria.
At the Indie Business Network, we believe that every woman can provide for herself and her children because she can sell something she made with her own hands.
