I came across this insightful information graphic showing the evolution of entrepreneurship, and I wanted to share it with you. Notice how it all began with Renaissance Tradesmen (and women!) — artisans who turned their ability to make things into a living. These creative entrepreneurs not only knew how to make beautiful things that people in their local communities wanted and needed, but they worked hard to figure out how to integrate a creative mind with an entrepreneurial one to make a profit. Sound familiar? Check it out:

Fast forward through the Industrial Revolution, when everything was conveniently mechanized and “dumbed down” into packages people could buy without thinking. Move down and check out the Information Age, where you'll see Etsy, a popular handmade artisan marketplace, appearing on the scene.
The Future Entrepreneurs section showcases how technology has made it possible for artisans to execute a good business idea more efficiently than ever, and with less capital. In some ways, we're back to the Renaissance Tradesmen (and women!), who are the entrepreneurs of the future, with technology added to the mix.
Same thing, different time.
I love how it ends: What's stopping you?
QUESTION: So, what is stopping you? Do you see yourself in the Future Entrepreneurs section, working to develop your business to the point where it can mature, grow and expand to serve more people? Please share your comments below!
