Get Game-Changing Insights from Healthy Hair + Self-Care Experts
The old ways of managing your hair probably are not working anymore. It's a new day for women who are ready to kick outdated stereotypes to the curb and take control of the statement their hair makes about who they are and what they stand for. As a woman who is intentionally embracing the beauty, dignity, and style of my gray hair, I can totally relate to this.
Thankfully, there are vibrant communities of women who are upending stereotypes and unhealthy versions of how and whether how women wear and tend to their hair reflects who they are and are not. In the upcoming Healthy Hair Summit, hosted by Indie Business Network member Scarlett Rocourt, you'll learn from many of them. I sat down with Scarlett to find out a bit more about this exciting event.
Q: Why is the Healthy Hair Summit an important event?
A: Scarlett says …
The purpose of the Healthy Hair Summit is to help people make the connection between their health and hair. We approach healthy hair in a holistic way. It’s more than just products, but also our health and culture. The Healthy Hair Summit will give women the information and tools needed to start making changes in their lives to set and achieve healthy hair and lifestyle goals.
Q: What does the Healthy Hair Summit offer that other events miss?
A: Scarlett says …
The Healthy Hair Summit is the first of its kind that aims to dispel the myths and misinformation around our hair. It also brings reliable experts to the people, so they can get the facts directly.
Q: Tell me how the experts were selected to share?
A: Scarlett says …
When thinking about the layout for the Healthy Hair Summit, I knew I wanted to discuss not just our hair, but also our culture and our health. They are inter-related. I know some of the expert speakers personally, as I have learned from them during my own haircare journey. Others were recommended to me, and some I discovered through my own research. They were selected because my in-depth research revealed that they would add value to the conversation.
Q: How will Healthy Hair Summit attendees emerge transformed?
A: Scarlett says …
Attendees will emerge from the Healthy Hair Summit with more information than they could get anywhere else. They will gain insight into how they can create a healthy haircare regimen from the inside and out, including nurturing their bodies. My motto is, “You can’t have healthy hair without a healthy body.”
For example, one of the experts is a plant-based physician who specializes in chronic illness. She will offer anecdotal and scientific information about the benefits to going plant-based. While a plant-based diet is not a focal point of the Summit, I do personally promote a healthy vegan lifestyle.
It is my hope that after attending the Summit, the women will become unofficial ambassadors who take what they learn and share it back to their own communities.
Q: Sounds great! When is it and how do we register?
A: Scarlett says …
The Healthy Hair Summit is a live virtual event that takes place from September 25-27. Instant replays will be offered throughout the weekend in case they participants cannot tune in live.
If you want information now, you can become a member here, and access the replays from the April event. The talks from the fall summit will be added later.
Q: Where is the community forming?
A: Scarlett says …
We offer memberships where people will gain lifetime access to all of the talks and a free Healthy Hair Workbook. I have big plans for the future of the Healthy Hair Summit including a planner, online courses, workshops and more!
