Lisa Kasper of Blue Moon Candles joined the Indie Beauty Network last year. She's a married mompreneur with 3 children, ages 25, 20 and 7. Lisa tells me that Blue Moon Candles is a family affair. Her husband and sons share samples and brochures with the women they come into contact with at their jobs, and this helps the sales keep rolling in. Lisa's also expanding into spas and boutiques, mainly in California and Florida. The delicious candle in this video arrived in today's mail.

You can buy the candle featured here at Lisa's website at this link. Lisa's candles are available in over 600 fragrances, many of them custom made upon customer request. The Lavender candle displayed in this video is $12 and burns for 60 hours. It smells fantastic!
Lisa says that her husband also tests everything before she sells it and is a great help when it comes to writing product descriptions and naming fragrance combinations.
Lisa tells me that she loves being a member of the Indie Beauty Network. “When I started my business, I met people who made candles, but I didn't know where to go to get business information.”
Lisa says that she found IBN when she was searching for products liability insurance. “I joined right away,” she says. “Not only did I get insurance at a great price, but I have made so many friends who have helped me along the way.”
“I get great support and feedback from them,” says Lisa. “I also get support from Donna Maria who keeps us up to date on FDA regulatory issues and things we need to know to be successful.”
Question: Lisa's connections with other small business owners has obviously served here business well. How has your connections with other small business owners helped you be successful in business?
