Indie Shopping TV Features Bidwell Botanicals, Cactus & Ivy and Soapylove
Happy New Year! Once again, I continue to fun learning how to use Ustream to bring you Indie Shopping Network TV live all week. We are true pioneers, using brand new technologies to bring you the first Internet shopping portal of it's kind. While we are excited to use Ustream's cutting edge technology, I am discovering a few glitches, including that when Internet traffic is heavy in your area or when Ustream is running slow, there are gaps in the recorded audio and/or video stream, or it may play with a delay, or not at all. (We do not have to rely only on Ustream for our recorded video, so these limitations need not constrain us. You can read more about that below.) In the meantime, I hope that when you read this, it's working fine. If not, reload the page. If that doesn't work, please return later to enjoy the stream. To do so now, click the arrow in the player below to enjoy yesterday's show. (Update: in the alternative, you can also scroll down to see a segment we did using our own hi def camera and editing equipment!)
UStream's streaming limitations do not prevent us from creating smooth flowing edited versions of the show for Indies who request that. To do this, beginning tomorrow, we are going to record each show not only via Ustream's service but also using our professional Sony High Definition Video camera. This will allow us to compress and upload our own recording so we do not continue to have this problem. For featured Indies who request it, we can also professionally edit our recording to create a recording with subtitles that include their names, website address, etc., that they can use can use at their websites that do not have Ustream's limitations.
UPDATE: January 2, 2009: I want you to see what a difference there is between Ustream's recording and ours so here's a segment of the show that we edited after recording using our hi def camera. Click on the arrow in the player to see what a difference there is!
I thought about removing the ustream recording, but decided to keep both of them so you could see the difference.
Yesterday's featured Indies are:
- Jill Bidwell of Bidwell Botanicals
- Lisa Rodgers of Cactus & Ivy
- Debbie Chialtas of Soapylove
I hope you enjoyed watching!
