One of my favorite personal development truth bombs, attributed to Jim Rohn, is that you either design your life or you tolerate it. What a great illustration of how to live a life you can truly enjoy. In my experience, the more intentionally I design my days, the more I enjoy my life. When I allow things to unfold organically, I tend to become lazy, undisciplined and unaccountable. For anyone, that is a recipe for disaster.
Designing how I live based on the outcomes I want produces far better results than taking things as they come and hoping I like the outcome. My annual reminder to avoid relying on hope and positivity is the book we will read together in January..
