In a brand new video, Carol's Daughter founder, Lisa Price, announced today that L’Oréal USA has signed an agreement to acquire her company, which she calls “her first child.” Watch here. (The video that originally appeared in this post has been replaced by a similar video.)
Lisa launched Carol's Daughter in her kitchen 21 years ago, making handmade soaps, lotions, butters, jellies, and potions that smelled delicious and worked wonders for your skin. Like all Indie Business Network members, Lisa started with a passion for making and sharing something wonderful with the world.
And what a trail she has blazed!
Through the years, the Carol's Daughter brand has grown, and even after investors stepped in a few years back, along with celebrity endorsements, Lisa Price continued to be the unmovable and undeniably visible face of the brand.
Lisa has been the consistent, never changing embodiment of Carol's Daughter for two decades, and in this video, she makes it clear that she's not going anywhere.
This isn't the end of Carol's Daughter, it's a new beginning,
Lisa says.
Congratulations Lisa, but even more, congratulations to the smart people at L’Oréal USA who clearly understand that they are buying so much more than a line of cosmetics.
They are buying a story; a real person's story. The Carol's Daughter story.
