Last week was one of the most amazing weeks of my life, as I and dozens of Indies set sail on my annual signature event, #IndieCruise, aboard Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas. Along with a record number of attendees, I sailed to Belize and Cozumel for MasterMinding, snorkeling, island touring, shopping, sunset watching, horseback riding, and personal growth like you wouldn't believe. We started #IndieCruise with an Intention Gathering where we set our intentions and goals and made ourselves accountable for the investment we were about to make in ourselves and our businesses.
As we sailed back to shore at the end of the #IndieCruise, everyone had an opportunity to share the lasting impact #IndieCruise has on their lives. Here is what IBN member Kismet Andrews (pictured, left, with fellow cruiser, Leigh Cronin) of Bar Maids in Brush Prairie, Washington shared.
At the end of the day, after blessing the balms, singing to the soap, infusing love into the lotion. When our most favored vendors have gone out of business, components for our top selling fragrance no longer available, our PayPal account hacked, and the cease and desist letter awaits to be answered, at the end of the day, as we prepare to go home to make dinner for our families, I vow to turn around and take a deep breath.
And just before I lock the door, I vow to to tell my business how much I love it. Each glorious, messy, frustrating, expensive, part of it.

There was not a dry eye in the house after Kismet shared. Her thoughts opened a flood gate of emotion from women who got so much out being unplugged and focused on achieving their dreams for a full, uninterrupted week of adventure, sharing and growth.
