A morning run! Burning more calories than I take in so early is a great way to set a positive business day in motion! Since I've been running so much at night, I've been putting off the switch to morning runs because I didn't want to start a new run only 10 or so hours after I ended the last one. Since I was on the treadmill for most of last night's run, I felt confident that I could enjoy an outdoor track run this morning, and boy, was I right!
One of the things I have going for me is a pair of children who encourage my efforts. Last week, they got some stickers from the craft box and affixed them to my rear view mirror. “Go.” Each time I get in my car, I'm reminded of my little cheerleaders. They're watching me. That makes it even ore important for me to put forth my best efforts to achieve my goals. Here are this morning's stats:
- Weather. 49°F, beautiful, and sunny
- Location. Siskey YMCA track
- Distance. 2.17miles
- Calories. 192
- Start Time. 7:48pm
- Run Time. 34:24
- Average Pace. 15:49 minutes/mile
- Playlist. NPR's Morning Edition on WFAE
-
Condition. Strong and confident. I haven't felt this good in a decade!
Question: If you're a parent, auntie, uncle or other role model of any kind, how do the young people in your family encourage you to achieve where fitness is concerned? How do you encourage them to do the same?
