Networking. The word sends chills up and down the spines of many a Maker and Handmade Entrepreneur. But the truth is that networking happens all the time, even when you are not aware of it. A networking event can be planned in advance, or it can be impromptu. Both are great, but the impromptu ones are wonderful surprises. For example, while my mom and I were shopping in Whole Foods Market this morning, a woman tapped me on my shoulder and said: “Are you Donna Maria?”
We embraced when she introduced herself as Dorothy Green of Keilove Botanica from Washington, DC, a longtime member of the Indie Business Network. The picture is of Dorothy and me in the refrigerated section. My mom even agreed to get in on the fun, behind me. “Dottie” and I talked for a good 15 minutes. I enjoyed hearing her share how much the Indie Business Network has helped her grow her business. See? Small business networking can happen anywhere.
Keilove Botanica products can be found in several retail stores in New York, including Soho Pharmacy in Tribeca.. Check them out if you are in the area, and like Keilove on Facebook and online.
Best and Success!
