Last month in this post, I introduced you to Anne-Marie Faiola who will be speaking on #IndieCruise2016 Mastermind on the topic of Practical Tips to Organize Your Business for Stunning Success and Unsurpassed Productivity. Today, I'm excited to introduce you to another speaker: the lovely Stacia Guzzo of Handcrafted Honey Bee in Tehachapi, California!
Join me in welcoming Stacia, as we prepare to gather at the beautiful Club Med Luxury Resort & Spa in Cancún, Yucatán, Mexico on January 17 – 21, 2016.
Stacia's topic is Easy Ways to Use Video to Build Your Brand and Solidify Customer Relationships
As you may recall, our theme for #IndieCruise2016 Mastermind is Make | Market | Monetize (more about that here), and Stacia has definitely done all of that. If you have not heard her story, you can enjoy it on Season 1, Episode 4, of the Indie Business Podcast.
More About Stacia
Stacia Guzzo is the founder & owner of Handcrafted Honey Bee, a company that sells DIY kits created to intentionally inspire confidence, creativity, and self-appreciation. She runs her business from a home-adjacent studio with the help of her #1 cheerleader, co-founder, and husband Robert. She's also a proud mompreneur who is learning to balance the entrepreneurial life while caring for their two boys, ages four and three.
Along with her husband (and sometimes starring her children), she makes videos of all kinds to build relationships with her customers. She makes fancy, fully edited videos featuring dozens of people. (See below.) She makes 15-second unedited videos for her Instagram, not starring her. (Here is an example.) She makes 15-second videos for her Instagram, starring her. (Here is an example of that.)
And sometimes, she uses her Instagram to tell you what equipment she buys to make her own videos. Like here.
Video Offers That “Little Bit of Something Extra”
Stacia said it well in my podcast when she reminded us that making a video for your customers shows them that you are willing to go the extra mile to connect with them. Video requires a little something extra, a bit more preparation, you know? You have to give more of yourself personally when you are on camera. You don't have to look like a movie star when you make a video for your business, but you do have to be more presentable than you would if all you were doing was publishing a blog post or sharing a static graphic.
I could not agree with Stacia more. I use video extensively in my business. Some videos are fancy and others are just off the cuff. Each makes a statement that resonates with the people you want to be closest to in business.
When you use video to build the relationships that build your business, you are using a medium that lets your customers know that you care enough to invest more of your valuable time to connect with them.
Stacia Knows Video
Stacia was a very high finalist in the 2014 Martha Stewart American Made Contest. One of the many reasons why was this video.
Stacia uses video in many ways in her business, not only to showcase her products, but also to establish Handcrafted Honey Bee as the brand that cultivates confidence in women of all ages. Stacia credits video with helping her finish close to the top of the Martha Stewart Awards, and also for helping her successfully encourage more people to know, like and trust her.
She and her husband shoot and edit their own videos in their in-home studio. They know tons of tricks to getting quality video done without breaking the bank … and some for those who want to take it a step further by investing more in video. Stacia will share ideas for any budget. She'll also share behind the scenes video tips all Makers and Creative Entrepreneurs can use.
