I am pleased to introduce you to Carolyn Abiad, IBN's new office manager and Director at The Indie Business Studio in Charlotte! We are so excited to have Carolyn right here with us as we prepare to open our offices and The Indie Business Studio in south Charlotte.
Carolyn is a people person with outstanding organizational and administrative skills. She is also an accomplished writer, and has a background that includes many years in the real real estate field. She is an impressive team player and a very fun person to be around. She joins me and David Boling, IBN's Director of Member Services, effective today. We are thrilled that she's joining our team.

Carolyn is very active in the local Charlotte community. She is a lover of the arts and all things colorful and beautiful. I love her answers to these questions about herself, which I am sharing unedited because I think it showcases her appreciation for the creative spirit, and how difficult it is to choose a favorite anything when you love so many things.
–> Favorite scents: Woody florals, sometimes with a little musk. I have a precious bottle of sandalwood rose parfum from Abu Dhabi, and I wear Magnifique or Un Jardin En Mediteranée, depending on the occasion.
–> Favorite color: Blue. Every shade, but especially turquoise.
–> Favorite books: Great Expectations, or Jane Eyre, or maybe Rebecca. Choosing a favorite book is impossible. Wuthering Heights?
–> Favorite movie: The Red Violin — A sad story, but so, so wonderful and layered. I also loved Dead Poets Society and Cider House Rules.
–> Favorite television genre: Mysteries: Sherlock is the one show I must watch, which might be because of Benedict Cumberbatch. Masterpiece Theater’s Downton Abbey is high on my watch list too. Is PBS a genre? And all kinds of nature and historical documentaries.
–> Favorite music: Sting, Every Breath You Take. I also listen to lots of Cold Play and U2, Turkish music from Tarkan, and French music from Lara Fabian.
–> Favorite Theater: Swan Lake, or anything Tchaikovsky.
–> Favorite quote: “Do not be satisfied with the stories that came before you. Unfold your own myth.” – Rumi.”
–> What Indie Means To Carolyn: Embracing creativity, doing something bold, and then sharing the experience; Indie means passing on the passion.
