All of us know someone who has been affected by the devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. One of the people I know, a member of IBN, lost her home, many of her pets and her business. Her name is Mariann Smith and she is the founder and CEO of Just Bubbly, a family-owned and operated business offering handmade, novelty bath soaps, lotions, scrubs and creams.
Click the “Chipin” button to donate. Thanks to all who have donated so far — dont' stop now! We are thankful that Mariann is physically OK, and the information we have now seems to indicate that her family members are safe as well. But it's still not a good situation. Her holiday inventory was lost. As of November 13, I am told that power had still not been restored and much more work needs to be done to restore her home and her business. IBN member, Marla Bosworth, is in better communication with Mariann, so if you'd like to provide more assistance, contact Marla through her FaceBook Page.
Along with all of her Indie friends and soapmaking colleagues, we wish her the best and want to give everyone we know an opportunity to make a contribution in any amount to encourage Mariann and help her rebuild her life and business.
