As the facilitator, I help everyone hold each other (that includes me) accountable to not only read and learn, but also to take action on what is read and learned. Our January 2013 book was The Compound Effect, y Darren Hardy. Our February pick was The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide To Personal Freedom, by Don Miguel Ruiz.
About The Power of Starting Something Stupid
From the publisher: In The Power of Starting Something Stupid, Richie Norton redefines stupid as we know it, demonstrating that life-changing ideas are often tragically mislabeled stupid. What if the key to success, creativity, and fulfillment in your life lies in the potential of those stupid ideas? This deeply inspiring book will teach you, among other things, the 5 actions of the New Smart to achieve authentic success.
From me: I am curious about this “new smart” notion. After all, I thought I was super smart when I graduated college, went to law school and set myself up for a lucrative and financially secure legal career. But a funny thing happened on the way to the corner office. I quit my job, an act that I thought was supremely smart, but which everyone I knew thought was supremely stupid. Today, many of those same people want to quit their jobs, but they say they can't. I guess they are not “stupid” enough. (That was a joke, people, don't throw anything.) Anyway, since so many of you have stupidly quit your jobs (or want to), I thought it would be timely to kick around this ideas of “new smart” together.
