If you know me, you know I am all about defining and owning life and business on your own terms. You probably also know that my personal and business missions are the same: empowering women (and guys too!) to maximize their potential through small business ownership. That's why, when serial New York Times best selling author Chris Brogan tapped me to join the writing team at his new digital magazine, I said “YES” without thinking too much about it. Here's Chris' video announcing the new OWNER Magazine.
As you can see and hear, OWNER's “beat” is the business curriculum for your future, and that makes it a magazine after my own heart. No matter where you are — a cubicle, a corner office, a retail store, a soapmaking studio, a dish washer line — if you own yourself first, you can translate that into ownership of just about anything you want.
The theme for the inaugural issue of OWNER is Launch, and my first article explores the notion of owning to launch and launching to own. You can read it here. I would so appreciate if you would share some feedback or questions about the “launch to own; own to launch” mindset.
If you are all about improving your life by growing your capabilities and your connections, I encourage you to subscribe to OWNER. It's free, it's great stuff, and I'll see you there.
QUESTIONS
1. In what sense(s) of the word do you own yourself?
2. What space to you own?
3. How do you connect ownership of self with ownership in a more traditional sense, like work or business?
Please share your thoughts and ideas below. We love hearing from you. Thanks for being here!
