We scoured the Web this week to bring you some American Made Goodness from our members nationwide. Bursts of color, a bit of bling, some honey sweetness, a billionaire celebrity and more — all in the mix.
It gives me such great pleasure to tell you about the love and beauty IBN members are adding to the world. Let's have a look.
Pooka Pure and Simple in New Jersey: Oprah is in the house
Above, you see Dawn Fitch of Pooka Pure and Simple with Miss O herself. This week, not only is Dawn sharing “The Pooka Story” in local media outlets throughout the New York/New Jersey area, but she also made it possible for Oprah Winfrey to meet her yesterday. Check the original image on her Instagram. This morning, Dawn said to me: “dM, I am in my season.” I wholeheartedly agree, and encouraged her to keep on smokin'. Awesome Dawn, and remember, not only did you get to meet Oprah, but Oprah also got meet you. I know she appreciates what an honor that is.
Waxing Kara in Maryland: Honey Harvest
You may know about some of the great soap, cosmetic, aromatherapy and bath+body products our members make, but did you know that some of them also sell their locally handmade artisan foods like jams, jellies, herbs and honey? The lovely Kara Brook of Waxing Kara in Baltimore is a prime example. The photo above is from her final honey harvest (yes, she does the harvesting herself) of 2014. Don't you want it all? Check the original image on her Twitter.
(Along with other IBN members, Waxing Kara is a 2015 Martha Stewart American Made finalist, and you can see how to click through and vote for her and others here.)
Adoratherapy in New Jersey: Bling and color!
Our member over at Adoratherapy in New Jersey is all about chakras and aromatherapy. I love her inventive way of marketing, including the most amazing Tumblr EVER. What a great idea to combine her colorful product line with an accessory that women love — the charm bracelet. I am in love with Adora, and you should be too.
Bambu Earth in California: Plant some paper
Yesterday's Product of the Day was lovely handamde soap from our member at Bambu Earth in Mission Viejo, California. Pictured are Lemongrass and Citrus Ginger Sea Salt Bar, but you may also love her Almond with Lemon and Vanilla Bean, which was also part of my stash. Each bar is wrapped in paper that, when planted, produces wild flowers. I'm not sure what will grow in the fall season in North Carolina, but I'm going to give it a try and let you know if I grow anything. Bambu Earth just opened a retail store, so you know what to do if you are in the area area. (Know that I am intensely jealous if you are.) Check out the original image on our Instagram.
I hope you have a fantastic weekend. After a few days of chilly temperatures and lots of rain and clouds, as I present this post to you, the skies are pretty and clear, with a beautiful Indian summer temperature of 70°. I hope it's beautiful where you are too!
Best and Success!
