What is CBD?
Cannabidiol, also known as CBD, is a naturally occurring derivative of hemp, a form of cannabis with lower tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) levels than marijuana.
Late last year, Congress passed what has become known as the Farm Bill, which legalizes the production of hemp. With the passage of the Farm bill, hemp and hemp derivatives, such as CBD, are no longer classified as prohibited substances under the Controlled Substances Act.
The Farm Bill has removed CBD, at levels 0.3% or less, from substances that are regulated by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Now that CBD can be legally incorporated into consumer products, the Indie Business Network is pleased to announce the offering of product liability insurance coverage to our members who make products containing hemp CBD.
