Last week, I shared some of the inspiring accomplishments of Indie Business Network members in a new Maker on the Move column. (If you missed last week's stories from Makers and Handmade Entrepreneurs in Louisiana, California, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, you can catch them here.) Based on the positive feedback received after the first Makers on the Move column, I've decided to continue it. First, here is a super cool graphic showcasing the May 2017 top contributors to our private Facebook community.
Our member, Marie Davis over at Beauty Hill Naturals, calls it our “tapestry of talent.” I like that, so I've stolen it from her, with permission of course.
You deserve to be inspired more frequently by the incredible moves small businesses are making in cities and town across America. I bet some of what you see here will inspire to maximize your potential as a small business owner. This week, our winning moves come from the following states: New Jersey, Ohio, Vermont, and Ohio.
A first-time promotional business video in New Jersey!
Stephanie Bradberry of Naturally Fit & Well in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, accepted a challenge to create a video about how she helps to create a more health-filled world, and the result was so much more than a challenge. She ended up with a professional informational video about her company. Check it out by clicking the arrow below.

Ohio boutique in the running for Cleveland's best gift shop
Torrian Denise launched Dorneé Natural Body Luxuries as an inspirational tribute following the death of her mom. Since then, she has quit her full-time job, lost her husband to kidney disease, raised their son from a pre-teen to a newly minted high school graduate and competitive golfer — oh! — and opened a boutique in her hometown of Cleveland.
Her boutique is currently in the running the be named the best gift shop in Cleveland. Voting ends June 4, and you can vote for Dorneé here.
Visit Dorneé at 711 Broadway Avenue, Bedford, Ohio, OH 44146

A (kind of) new boutique opens in Vermont

At Flourish, Kirsten Connor creates organic hair and skin care products with fun scents and fresh wildflowers. Her boutique also features locally formulated hair and skincare products created from locally grown and sourced ingredients.

Etsy seller tips from California
Our Alana Rivera of etta+billie in San Francisco is a member of the San Francisco Etsy Team, so it's no wonder that she was asked to provide Etsy seller tips by Refiner 29 this week.
Here is some of Alana's advice from the article:
Etsy's gone through lots of different iterations, both visually and in terms of how their search algorithm works. For example, back in the day, to get in the top rankings, what mattered was your keywords and how often you re-listed items. Now it has everything to do with your description, the actual titles of your products, and your keywords. Make sure you're signed up for their emails about tech changes, marketing changes, and more.
