As Indies, we face many fears. Putting ourselves out there each day can be terrifying. Will people think my new blog stinks? What if I think I hate selling, but have to do it anyway? How will I start my business if I don't know how to get started? What if I launch a Facebook group, but don't know if anyone will participate?
Our fears are natural. They make us human. But we can become enslaved to them, accommodating a comfort zone that keeps us from achieving our full potential. Eleanor Roosevelt is quoted as saying,
“Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you're scared.”
To be successful, we must see the fear. We must acknowledge and respect it. And then, with our Indie supporters and friends around us, we must proceed to do the very thing that terrifies us.
Question: I plan to remember that this week. How about you?
