A thrilling moment is on the horizon for the Indie Business Network as we eagerly anticipate the arrival of our 25th year of continuous service! Thanks to the unwavering support of our extraordinary members, we're gearing up to commemorate a quarter-century of dedicated service to small business owners across North America. Save the date: January 24-26, 2025!
Our journey began in the cozy confines of Donna Maria's tiny second-floor bedroom, nestled in a rented house on Fern Place in Washington, DC. It was January 16, 2000, a poignant time marked by the tragic murder of her best friend, Robin. From the humble inception with just 15 recipients of our inaugural email newsletter, the Indie Business Network would blossom into a thriving community. Within a mere ninety days, the Indie Business Network had it's first dues paying member, Kathleen Lewis, and the rest is history!
IBN has served multiple thousands of members throughout the United States and Canada, and has supported and facilitated the growth of countless small businesses — most of them woman and minority-owned — around the world.
25th Anniversary Entrepreneur Experience + Celebration Gala
We are honored and privileged to serve for a quarter century. To celebrate the beginning of a new era, we will host a gala to honor our members and friends, and celebrate entrepreneurship in style. Our event plans include the following:
- Friday Evening Cocktail Hour Meet + Greet with Donna Maria and other attendees
- An amazing Entrepreneur Experience, including inspiring entrepreneurial keynote, speakers and trainers to help you further your small business success
- Optional VIP Sunday Morning Indie Business Brunch with Donna Maria
- Classes and seminars to help you launch, grow and/or scale your business
- A celebration of the Robin's Roses Entrepreneurial Scholarship and honoring or Robin's legacy and posthumous award celebrating her contribution to entrepreneurs worldwide
- Time with founder's children, Brooks and Vanessa, two of the reasons for the longevity of the Indie Business Network
- Scrumptious dinner and fun dancing
- Photo booth fun
- Swag and prizes
