One of the important issues business owners face is how to select, secure, and protect their brand names. Of course, you want a brand name that makes you personally happy and satisfied. On the other hand, the fact that you like a certain name does not mean you can own, secure, and protect it as your own. This is where the notion of trademarks comes in. A trademark is a type of intellectual property that you can claim rights to such that only you can use the name to identify the same types of types of products and services in the marketplace. While the concept may seem straightforward, there are potential pitfalls, which is why we’re diving deep into this important topic.
